Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
A hands-on healing therapy
The movement of life energy in the body has a palpable rhythm, and a rising and falling along the midline of the body. The Founders of BCST referred to these movements, which have different rates, as “Tides”. The Tides were also known, collectively, as “the Breath of Life.”
“Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is unusual in that it can hold the spectrum of healing from very effective and quick pain relief in both acute and chronic conditions in a few sessions, to a deep inquiry of what it means to exist in a body over a number of years. Some people see it as silent psychotherapy. Other people use it as a gentle form of physiotherapy, osteopathy or chiropractic. People diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer find BCST as a source of ongoing support.” –Sumner & Haines, Cranial Intelligence
Through the skilled, non-invasive, non-manipulative touch of a practitioner, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy facilitates alignment, movement, breath and flow to allow the body to heal more efficiently. This practice often induces a state of deep relaxation and stillness, allowing the parasympathetic nervous system, the body’s ideal state for healing, to take over. This leads to the potential for resolving or transforming chronic or acute conditions on all levels, as well as relief from stress; promoting clarity, energy, and health.
BCST is a model of healing based on three years of dedicated training in anatomy, physiology, principles of osteopathy (its relative), energetic dynamics, perception and sensitivity, as well as hours of practice giving and receiving the work–which facilitates our own healing as practitioners. This is an energy practice rooted in the anatomy of the body, with powerful transformational potential affecting injury, illness, emotions, birth patterns, psychology, spirit and much more.
Because of its gentle and non-invasive approach, BCST is appropriate for all ages and conditions, including infants, children, elders, and people suffering from acute trauma.
I am currently a student midway into the three-year certification training. I am accepting practice clients at a student rate. Email me at email@example.com to schedule a session.
